Sebelum masuk ke pembahasan, siapa yang pernah ngalamin redesign aplikasi karena tak adanya komunikasi antara tim? Ini memang biasa terjadi kalau tak ada komunikasi visual antar tim designer dan pengembangan tentang rancangan desain aplikasi.
Bisa dibayangkan, sebelum diterapkan kita perlu menghubungi tim designer terlebih dahulu untuk melakukan verifikasi konsep yang dibuat apakah sudah final atau belum. Ini akan sangat membuang waktu, bukan? Apalagi ketika kita dikejar deadline yang kian dekat.
Namun demikian, redesign aplikasi masih bisa terjadi karena beberapa faktor selain yang sudah disebutkan di atas. Contoh, yang menentukan sebuah aplikasi dapat diterima dengan baik oleh pengguna adalah bagaimana aplikasi tersebut dapat menyuguhkan desain menawan di mana setiap komponen yang berada di dalamnya dapat berjalan dengan baik sesuai dengan ekspektasi pengguna.
Tak mau kan, akun developer play store kita dipenuhi komentar “Bintang satu dulu, kalo udah beres baru kasih bintang lima.” Ketika hal seperti itu terjadi, redesign bisa saja dilakukan.
Berkenalan dengan Figma
Nah, untuk meminimalisir semua kemungkinan yang akan terjadi terutama masalah seperti di atas, buatlah terlebih dahulu rancangan desain dari aplikasi yang ingin dikembangkan. Caranya cukup mudah. Gunakan tools yang tersebar cukup banyak di internet baik itu yang gratis maupun berbayar. Salah satunya adalah Gravit Design. Aplikasi pertama yang saya gunakan sebelum berjumpa dengan tools berbasis web adalah Figma.
Figma bisa menghemat waktu untuk melakukan verifikasi desain karena kita bisa berkolaborasi seperti memberi komentar, saran, bahkan mengubah rancangan desain yang ada dalam waktu yang bersamaan. Keren bukan? Itulah salah satu alasan saya berpindah hati.
Sebenarnya ada banyak aplikasi keren lainnya yang serupa, sebut saja Adobe XD, Sketch dan Zeplin. Lalu kenapa Saya memilih Figma? Selain bisa digunakan secara gratis (saat ini), Figma dapat dijalankan dengan baik oleh pengguna Linux karena berbasis web. Berbeda dengan beberapa aplikasi lainnya yang harus diinstall terlebih dahulu.

The Figma Desktop App gives you access to the same features and functionality as using Figma in a browser. You can also:
- Develop plugins to share with the Figma Community
- Access and use fonts installed on your device, without needing the font installer.
Figma has desktop apps available for macOS and Windows. Download the desktop app for a more native Figma experience.
Check your system requirements
Check if your device meets the minimum operating system requirements for installing and using the Figma Desktop App.
macOS (Apple)
- Head to the Apple menu in the top-left corner.
- Select About this Mac from the options.
- The version number will be displayed under the version name. You must be running 10.11 (OS X El Capitan), or later.
Windows
- Click the Start button.
- Enter Computer in the search field.
- Right-click and select Properties.
- Identify the version under the Windows edition field. You must be running Windows 8 or later in a 64-bit environment.
Note: It's not possible to run the Figma Desktop app behind a proxy. If you're using a proxy, you will need to use Figma in the browser instead.
Download and install desktop apps
- Download the Figma Desktop app:
- Figma will download the desktop app to the location you have configured. Click on the downloaded file to run the installer.
- Move the Figma icon from the Downloads folder to your Applications folder.
- Delete the Installer from your Desktop or Downloads folder.
- Open the Figma app to get started.
Beta version of the Desktop App
Figma also has a beta version of the desktop app available.
By using the beta version of the app, you're helping Figma test bug fixes and performance improvements, before we release them to the general public. The beta version does not give you access to features Figma hasn't released yet.
You can install and use the Figma desktop app and the beta version at the same time. Both versions of the desktop app will offer the same core features and functionality.
Download the beta version
Caution: The beta version of the desktop app is a test environment. If you notice issues or behaviors that need our attention, please submit a bug report. Switch to the regular version of the desktop app if needed.
- Download the beta version of the Figma Desktop app:
- Figma will download the app to the location you have configured. Click on the downloaded file to run the installer.
- Move the Figma icon from the Downloads folder to your Applications folder.
- Delete the Installer from your Desktop or Downloads folder.
- Open the Figma Beta app to get started.
Once installed, app icons display as Figma for the regular desktop app and Figma Beta for the beta version.
